Description des cours

I am a native English speaker. My utmost motive to teach English is helping one learn my language and in that way I will also get to know more about them and learn more about their language. I had this passion for teaching (not only English bug other subjects as well) during my high school years. Since I do not really have much talent to offer, I believe teaching English is one thing I can use to help people who are in need to learn and in that way I give back to the community. During the past 3 years of teaching, one thing that motivates me is how massively I learn from my audience/learners. I get to learn more about their culture, language and way of living. And what better way to learn all these in France. Teaching English enhances my resumé, makes me creative and help me gain relations with different people from different backgrounds.

Colleen en quelques mots

I use a pedagogical approach to teach my learners/audience. For kindergarten, I use flashcards, drawing, music, singing, and dancing as a way to learn while having fun. For primary and high school learners, I incorporate a little of both. I use the latest syllabus textbooks that I find online (for free) to teach students.

My academic background includes a Master's degree in Microbiology and Physico-chemistry in food and wine processes from Université de Bourgogne, where I graduated with distinction. I am currently in my final (3rd) year of my PhD at Le Mans Université, France, specializing in the characterization and functionality of rapeseed protein isolate.

I had a private tutor with Ms Colleen for 6 months. As a non-English speaker, I had a difficulty in understanding English but through her private lesson with me she offered me quick easy teaching and tips. I like how she doesn’t make me feel like I am in a classroom but more like in a social class. Through her mentorship and tutoring I successfully got B1 in school. I am currently studying linguistic at the University and Colleen’s help made me to achieve my dream as a linguistic student. Her tutoring hours is flexible. She is agile and easy to talk to, very patient and understanding.
