I am an undergraduate student at the University of York and wish to tutor french lessons online. I lived in Lyon, France, for seventeen years and attended an all-French school. My father is English, and my mother is Canadian; therefore, I am perfectly bilingual. I also studied German and Spanish for six and five years, respectively and thus, I understand how to teach and structure a language class properly. My multicultural upbringing has taught me valuable people skills such as tolerance, empathy, interaction with people of varied cultures and an ability to see things from multiple perspectives. Additionally, through babysitting and teaching basic English and French lessons to young children, I have learned the patience, enthusiasm, and attentiveness necessary for tutoring. I believe in creating safe working environments without any stress or pressure where students can express themselves freely and make mistakes without any fear of judgement. I value interactive language lessons mostly conducted in the language being taught over strictly grammar and writing classes. I believe that speaking french as much as possible and consuming french media is the best way to learn the language. Therefore, my classes will mostly take the form of discussions and games incorporating some grammar and conjugation lessons as well. I shape my lessons according to the student's needs, they can come to me with suggestions and let me know what they wish to focus on most so we so we can work on it together.
